Chore chart for kids: with stars, rewards and allowance

Beeside guides · updated October 2026

Chores are more fun when you can see what you've done. A good chore chart shows each child their tasks, rewards them visibly and lets parents decide what counts.

Chores per child, with suggestions by age

Each child has their own card in Beeside. Chores can be daily, on chosen weekdays, monthly or once, each worth 0 to 20 stars. If a child has none yet, Beeside suggests some for their age, like “Set the table”.

Stars, allowance or both

  • Per child you choose what motivates: stars, allowance or both.
  • Allowance per star or per chore, with a balance and payouts.
  • Rewards like “ice cream for 10 stars” are redeemed by the child, and you hand them over.

Kids tick off their own chores

Kids don't need a phone. They tick off in kids mode on a parent's phone (exit only with a PIN), on the family tablet or on their own device, paired with a QR code, no account or email needed.

If you like, turn on Parents confirm every done per child. Then a tick only counts once you've approved it.

Frequently asked questions

Does my child need their own phone?

No. Kids mode on a parent's phone or the family tablet is enough. A child's own device pairs with a QR code, no account needed.

Can I give allowance instead of stars?

Yes. Per child: stars, allowance or both, allowance per star or per chore.

Can a child cheat?

If you like, every done only counts after you confirm it.
